At The Backyard (Berlin Edit)

Felidae are coming up with a new song in May!

The Berlin Edit of “At The Backyard” is actually a rework of an older version, but now German verses have found a way in. Going back and forth between German and English the song reflects modern global life and the search for home, which finds its musical equation in a mixture of energetic rock with Arabic influences.

With “At The Backyard (Berlin Edit)” Felidae frontman Omer Lichtenstein focuses on a large part of the global wave of the so-called “Expats,” who tend to prefer to live in the hip-neighbourhoods like Berlin-Neukölln. His look at Berlin’s “backyards” points to the lack of fruitful interaction between locals and foreigners in these neighbourhoods. This critical viewpoint regarding the international mob-movement is the central theme of the song.
